Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Principal / Staff Process Improvement Analyst to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The Sr. Principal / Staff Process Improvement Analyst will join the Missile Defense Solutions (MDS) Team to work on multiple programs within the Business Unit (BU).

Responsibilities will include working with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritize and lead/facilitate improvement efforts resulting in measurable operational efficiencies. You will be responsible for primary support of the Colorado Springs, CO locations but will work liaise with and provide secondary support to the Huntsville, AL Sr. Principal / Staff Process Improvement Analyst.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead/facilitate integrated, multi-disciplined continuous improvement projects that support the sector’s strategic direction
  • Engage in targeted activities with program teams at the request of the leadership
  • Coach/mentor improvement teams to develops solutions to problems of varying complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity and creativity
  • Establish performance metrics to measure and sustain improvements
  • Provide coaching, training and consultation in Six-Sigma and Lean principles to colleagues pursuing certification
  • Demonstrate success in leading diverse cross functional teams to higher performance
  • Maintain positive working relationships with peers, leadership, and team members when interacting on difficult systematic problems
  • Communicate improvement progress and issues through visual, verbal, and written methods to stakeholders and business leaders
  • Foster a collaborative culture that sustains the momentum around employee engagement and inclusion, affordability, innovation, value growth and continuous improvement.

This requisition may be filled at a higher grade based on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications:

This requisition may be filled at either a Sr. Principal Process Improvement Analyst or Staff Process Improvement Analyst level.

BQs for a Sr. Principal Process Improvement Analyst are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and 10 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree and 8 years of related experience
  • Proven success in leading multiple process improvement teams/activities across programs or disciplines
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and self-manage a variety of improvement activities
  • Basic knowledge of Tableau and/or Power BI, SharePoint and Jira/Azure DevOps
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the DoD Secret level

BQs for a Staff Process Improvement Analyst are:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university and 15 years of related experience, or a Master’s Degree and 13 years of related experience
  • Proven success in leading multiple process improvement teams/activities across programs or disciplines
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and self-manage a variety of improvement activities
  • Basic knowledge of Tableau and/or Power BI, SharePoint and Jira/Azure DevOps
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Six-Sigma Green Belt Certification
  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time.
  • Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government security clearance at the DoD Secret level

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Mission Assurance or Program Management
  • DoD background in Space, Defense and/or IT
  • Six-Sigma Black Belt or Lean Expert Certification
  • Proficiency in:
    -Data/statistical analysis
    -Microsoft Office products
  • Intermediate knowledge in:
    -Tableau and/or Power BI for data analytics
    -SharePoint
    -Azure DevOps and/or Jira
  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance

Salary Range: 94200 – 141400
Salary Range 2: 116900 – 175300

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
