Course Overview
This Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Online Course provides participants with the detailed methodology and tools of Lean Six Sigma to lead their organization toward “World Class” status. The content combines the proven and powerful elements of both traditional Lean and traditional Six Sigma into a blended approach. The emphasis is on: 1) gaining process and product knowledge with critical thinking, 2) reducing variability and non-value added activities, and 3) developing leaders in the organization who are focused on enhancing customer value, decreasing defect rates and wasted efforts, reducing cost and cycle time, and generating business growth and breakthrough improvements. The Lean Six Sigma methodology is taught with a “Keep It Simple Statistically” (KISS) approach and makes use of many in-class examples, simulations, and hands-on exercises to ensure that participants have a practical, working knowledge of the tools.
Skills You Will Learn
Participants in the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt online Course learn the basics of the Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) methodology and tools for achieving better, faster, and lower cost products and processes. We use a knowledge-based approach to “pull” the use of Lean and Six Sigma tools, not push them.
Participants learn to select and apply the right tools for a particular problem or question. The intended audience is anyone who desires to become a practitioner of the Lean Six Sigma methodology and toolset and who will be leading Lean Six Sigma projects within an organization. Participants who complete the Green Belt training and later wish to expand their knowledge of the DMAIC methodology and tools may continue by enrolling in a Black Belt course. This self-paced course consists of 16 recorded sessions found below. If desired, the student has the ability to add instructor lead sessions allowing for interactive discussions, review of tools and general questions and answers.

Course Structure
This is a self-paced course, consisting of 16 recorded sessions. There is an outline below that describes the content in each of the sessions. Although the sessions can be viewed in any order, we believe that you will learn most efficiently by following the sequence in the order shown. In particular, the first session presents an overview of Lean Six Sigma, which will be helpful to put the remaining sessions in proper context.
Many of the recorded sessions will contain places to “pause” the recording to complete a practice exercise or to reflect on the material. Each session also includes supplemental reading assignments along with additional practice and review questions which will help support your learning. You are strongly encouraged to complete these.
At the end of each session, there is an associated 5-question quiz to test your knowledge and gauge your understanding of that topic. To receive credit for module completion you must successfully pass 4 out of 5 quiz questions. Quizzes can be taken until a passing score is achieved.

Learning Objectives
The objective of this Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Online Course is to develop a comprehensive set of skills that will let you function effectively as a change agent in your company. You will learn the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt body of knowledge, practice techniques for both quantitative and non-quantitative analysis, and gain the skills necessary to become a practitioner of the Lean Six Sigma methodology and tool set to prepare you to lead Lean Six Sigma projects within your organization. This varies per student. Each module is 1 approximately 1 hour in length. Homework is required. The typical Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course consists of 10 days of instruction, homework and quizzes. That equates to 40 + hours. If you are able to study on your own, come prepared to the instructor lead sessions and pass the quizzes easily you should be able to complete this within 2-4 weeks.

How long will it take to get Six Sigma Green Belt Certified?
The certification process starts once the course is completed. The industry standard (observed by most certifying bodies) requires the student have a project/process that need improvement and which can be achieved by applying the tools and principles learned in the course. This project needs to be presented to a coach and often times a manager. A certification exam is also required. This process can be as short as 3 months and should be no longer than 1 year.
