On average, our consultants have more than 20 years of experience in training, materials development and coaching/mentoring. More important, they are all Six Sigma Master Black Belts certified from such recognized Six Sigma leaders as Texas Instruments, General Electric, Allied Signal, Raytheon, GlaxoSmithKline, Corning, Delphi and Lockheed Martin.

As Apogee embarked upon the Six Sigma/Lean trail, Air Academy became our partner in every sense. Communication was open; we and Air Academy challenged each other to make the journey as productive and efficient as possible. As a small cap public company with limited resources, we elected to continue to have Air Academy provide the educational key to our training and eventual cultural change beyond the initial training phase. In my over 20 years of experience, I have had many courses, seminars, or training on ‘how to do it better’. Most, would be training only, and application to actual daily work would never be applied. How many times has this happened to others? As a Quality Engineering Manager in PWB and box assembly for mostly military hardware, I was provided the opportunity to attend an accelerated Six Sigma Black Belt course given by Air Academy. I thought this would be training like all the rest, I was very wrong. I found the instructor to be very interesting and captive with what could be thought of as dry data. He did not read from a power point, did not teach strictly from a book, but provided information that got me excited about making a difference in our operation which ultimately improved the bottom line. I was not trained only, but was given the opportunity to certify, which verified I understood the training. I like to think we are not really trained, but are now educated in the Lean six sigma ways.
